Skip Luisi

Rudolph (Skip) Luisi is a lifelong resident of Vineland and graduated from Sacred Heart School and Cumberland County College (today it is Rowan College of South Jersey).  He attended the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service and became a Funeral Director in the state of New Jersey.

Mr. Luisi served in the US Army and the New Jersey National Guard as a Medic and was the Southern Regional Coordinator for the POW-MIA program from the Vietnam War.

In addition to being the owner and manager of the Demarco-Luisi Funeral Home in Vineland for 35 years, Skip has been a licensed funeral director for 50 years.  He was involved in the West Jersey Funeral Director Association, his local and civic memberships include being the Founder and Past President of the Italian American Benevolent Association, a member of the American Legion Post 0270, he is the past member of the Vineland Housing Authority and was a member on the Vineland Zoning Board.

Skip was also the past President of the Vineland Jaycees and regional Director for the NJ Jaycees mentoring new Jaycee members.  Mr. Luisi is an honorary 3rd and 4th Degree Knight of Columbus and the past Grand Knight.  He even found time to be a member of the SPCA of Cumberland County and maintains his membership at the Elks Lodge and Moose Lodge in Millville.

He was married for over 50 years to Regina Bassano and the proud father Danielle Luisi (both deceased).  Skip is a proud father to his daughter Melissa and sons, Tony and Vincent, and 2 grandchildren.

Mr. Luisi is proud of his American and Italian heritage and loves living in Vineland and a resident of Cumberland County with his family.

Skip Luisi is running for the office of Surrogate.  He wants to bring back this vital service to the people of Cumberland County, he wants to provide in person meetings again, and expand the Surrogate’s Office to accommodate the different schedules of residents.  Skip understands what families are experiencing during an emotional and often difficult time from the loss of a loved one.  He knows that the Surrogate’s office also offers other professional services for adoptions and understands that too many residents need guidance navigating through governmental regulations.
